Santa Tecla outrebounded Santiagueno 48-30 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard Marquise Mosley (175-1997, college: Biola, CA) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American guard EJ Blackwell (193, college: Lourdes) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
